Social Playbook Components

While some brands require more than others, these are just some of the components that go into social playbooks I create.

Social Strategy

Nerd: Find gaps where brands can seize opportunities in the social space. Establish the purpose of social platforms and determining which ones make sense for the brand.

Translation: Where should your brand be? When should it be there? How should it be talking to your intended audience? Hell, who is that intended audience? The social strategy answers all of that.

Risk Management

Nerd: Proactively prepare the brand to prevent or guide them through any crisis that may occur. Assist in navigating through the difficulties in the rapidly changing environment of social.

Translation: Help you prepare for trouble, and (if necessary) assist in getting you out of it.

Content Strategy

Nerd: Establish themes based on insights and goals. Plan what type of content goes where, and how it best suits its host platform. Seek out influencer and vendor partnerships based on brand identity.

Translation: No more simply taking spots from TV. Leverage the strengths specific platforms to effectively reach audiences where they are.

Social Listening

Nerd: Combine social platforms' native data, social listening tool data, and case study/industry reports to uncover opportunities to understand human behavior.

Translation: Find the overarching themes in culture that exist on social media by using really cool tools that do really cool things.
